Trying to advertise a home business, cheap and legal?

Postby santosh » Sun Feb 28, 2010 2:03 pm

Hi, everyone! I've been posting quite a few questions lately in different categories, and here is another one!

I have been certified as a wedding consultant, since October of 2009. I practice in Michigan, where it is not necessary to be certified, but I did that for myself. I want to start advertising to brides in Michigan without spending a ton of money up front. My fiance and I are planning our own wedding, plus he's the only one working since we are still in school.

I don't know if I should invest in business cards to leave with some bridal shops, I can do that for about $20.

Does anyone know of any bridal forums I could post to?

Does anyone have any other ideas that are somewhat cheap but totally legal. I'm not against spending money, I know that it takes money to have money, I'm just looking for some other creative ideas to help me get things going.

I already have a special deal, first 5 clients to sign with me, I will do for free, simply to gain clients and experience.

Thank you.

Trying to advertise a home business, cheap and legal?

You can go to Vistaprint to get free business cards. Definitely invest in them. And only use the slowest shipping. (They try to fool you into investing in higher shipping to make more money, but they ship very reasonably.) You can use post cards and I suggest advertising on Craigslist and hang fliers around town. When you eat out, leave a nice tip and a cute business card. Have you tried sites like Corkin? Go to Google and google "Free ads" or "Similiar to Craigslist" These are great ways to advertise for free! Google "Bridal forums" that's the easiest way to find anything on the internet. Hope this helps! Need anymore tips, just email me!
