Is there copywright laws for company slogans?

Postby moving2020 » Sat Jan 30, 2010 5:21 am

I am coming up with a slogan for my business. I know there are laws on using an existing name for your business, but is there any law on using the same slogan as another company. I want to use "Quality you can count on" but when I google that phrase it appears a lot of companies use that slogan. I just need to know it I can get in trouble in any way for using a slogan that is used in other places.

Thanks for your time.

If the "Quality you can count on" is the slogans you are planning for your business then it won't be any problem. Quality you can count on is not trademarked or reserved slogan Yet. And for that very reason you see that many companies are using that phrase. Quality you can count on is very Generic phrase.
